EUROSUD Students in Madrid - Trip to Alcalรก de Henares
Our EUROSUD International Master students, Marie, Chuangheng, Habiba, Miriam, Mariam and Vukan who are on the Madrid pathway went on a trip to Alcalรก de Henares. The city is known as the birthplace of Miguel de Cervantes, author of the world-famous Don Quixote. They visited his birth house as well as the Archaeological Museum, ending the excursion with a walk around the city centre which is one of UNESCO's World Heritage Sites. What a great day they had!

Salut, Iโm Anna ๐๐ผ
Like my dear friend Ilaria ๐, Iโd also like to share my journey as a EUROSUD student and, currently, an intern at the OECD.
The Mediterranean has been the region of my major research interest since I began my undergraduate studies in International Relations in Russia๐ท๐บ. After getting some valuable work experience in media, translation, and management consulting, I decided to continue with my studies and was lucky to find the newly launched EUROSUD Master programme. Now, progressing through my last semester in France ๐ซ๐ท (after completing studies in Glasgow๐ด๓ ง๓ ข๓ ณ๓ ฃ๓ ด๓ ฟ and Madrid๐ช๐ธ), I can say that applying for EUROSUD was 100% the right decision that has already opened many doors for me and my fellow classmates๐๐ผ
In January 2021, I started my 6-month internship as a Junior Policy Analyst at the Global Relations Secretariat of the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development in Paris. While the internship is at the Eurasia Division of the GRS, which works closely with the countries of the Eastern Partnership, Central Asia and Afghanistan, we have been conducting joint projects with many other OECD Directorates, including the GRS MENA Division.
I have been involved in the work on multiple OECD projects - from gender equality, consumer protection and digitalisation, to green energy reforms and regional development & decentralisation - being in constant contact with the partners from the EU, UN agencies and other international and civil society organisations, and national governments representatives๐ฉ๐ผโ๐ป
The knowledge of the European and OECD member-countriesโ policies, and experience in project management and policy analysis which I obtained throughout my Master studies, have helped me a lot in my daily-work.
After graduation, I plan to continue working in the policy analysis and consulting sector, either at an international organisation or a think-tank.
And to everyone whoโs reading this: best of luck in anything you do, and big hugs to my EUROSUD classmates wherever you are ๐ค

EUROSUD Staff Student Liaison Committee Meeting (SSLC)
The EUROSUD Staff Student Liaison Committee Meeting (SSLC) took place on 17 February 2021. Our Student Reps work hard to report for and back to both cohorts of students who are currently in their mobility locations (Athens/Madrid/LUISS/Marseille). This is one of our most important meetings, providing a channel for our students to voice any issues they may have. The Committee are very proactive in ensuring any concerns or ideas that the students have come up with are met and that we are fully supporting the students.
EUROSUD Internship - Ilaria Pelucchi
Meet Ilaria, who chose EUROSUD International master programme because of its focus on the Mediterranean as a region and after volunteering in Gaziantep, Turkey where she worked with vulnerable refugee children coming from Syria and Afghanistan.
Her topic of interest is migration and Europe's relations with the Arab world. After completing the first three semesters of her International Master Degree in University of Glasgow, Universidad Autรณnoma de Madrid, and Aix-Marseille, she is now in Bologna, Italy doing her internship as a reception operator for asylum seekers and refugees.
She will spend the first three months in a first reception centre helping out in the legal area, in the process of obtention of international protection; and the last three months in a second reception centre where she will contribute to programs of social, cultural and work integration. Her hope is to have her own NGO one day, to assist and support vulnerable refugee minors in their new life; to teach them languages and to create intercultural exchanges through music ๐ผ , art ๐จ, and cooking ๐ฅ ".

Meet Merima our student rep for Athens (NKUA)
Hi! My name is Merima and I am the student rep for the second cohort in Athens. It has been very rewarding to serve as the student rep and help make this semester a bit easier for everyone and hopefully serving as a useful link between students and staff. I think one of our major goals and challenges this year is to keep everyoneโs spirits up and connect with each other as much as possible, but I would say we are all doing a good job and are looking forward to a better summer! Another goal was to keep the connection between our cohort in Athens and Madrid, and we have been doing so by having coffee and game-night meet ups through Zoom.
